Cameron Optometry Supports World Sight Day

The World Sight Day Challenge is a fundraising initiative of Optometry Giving Sight to fund sustainable eye care services to help the 670 million people around the world who suffer from uncorrected refractive error – simply the need for any eye exam and a pair of glasses.

According to VISION 2020: The Right to Sight, two-thirds of all blind people are women and girls. In many countries this is due to traditional social, economic and political structures and customs that favour men over women. The global VISION 2020 focus of World Sight Day 2009 is gender and eye health.

This year we are highlighting the need of the millions of mothers, wives and daughters who do not have access to the most basic eye care services.

Cameron Optometry joins this year’s World Sight Day Challenge in October to help raise funds and awareness for projects that will enhance vision care access for the millions in need.

On Friday 30th October 2009, all consultation fees from Cameron Optometry’s practices in Nowra, Ulladulla and Batemans Bay will be donated to Optometry Giving Sight.
